Brief Itinerary
DAY 1 | GROŽNJAN AND MOTOVUN - BACK TO NATURE
PERFECT WARMUP
Riding in Istria has a unique charm, combining the allure of small, picturesque villages, vibrant red soil, and world-class wine. This day, we’ll ride above the Mirna Valley, a region famed worldwide for its truffles, and explore beautiful trails surrounding Grožnjan, Oprtalj and Motovun. This unforgettable ride through Istria’s culinary heart will offer both stunning landscapes and a taste of its rich cultural and gastronomic heritage. We might be met with some of that signature red – terra rossa – mud that will give our bikes a new, earthy “paint job”.

- Morning introductory meeting in Motovun – “face to face meeting with guides”
- Riding around Grožnjan, Oprtalj and Motovun villages – towns.

DAY 2 | KAMENJAK PARK, PULA OLD TOWN AND ROVINJ
RIDING ALONG THE ISTRIAN CAPE AND EXPERIENCING THE HISTORY OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE
Today is dedicated to biking the unique trails of Kamenjak Nature Park. Park’s numerous routes will keep us well occupied. These trails aren’t necessarily steep, but they are incredibly dynamic, with constant ups and downs and paths running right alongside the sea. We’ll navigate a mix of rocky patches, signature red soil, and dusty gravel roads. It’s truly an unforgettable ride in a remarkable natural setting. A dip in the sea is almost mandatory here! We’ll finish riding near Pula’s impressive Roman amphitheater, adding a touch of history to an exhilarating adventure. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a stroll through the famous town of Rovinj, where we will be able to indulge ourselves and unwind.

DAY 3 | KRK ISLAND - THE HEART OF THE KVARNER
RIDING “TRAIL ON THE MOON”
Today, we’ll bid farewell to the stunning Istria and make a quick trip over to Kvarner bay, known for its rugged, rocky islands, shaped by the powerful bora – Burja – winds. Our stop will be on the island of Krk, specifically in the town of Krk, where we’ll embark on a cycling tour through an area with a landscape reminiscent of the moon’s surface. This awe-inspiring circular route is sure to captivate us as it transports us to a place that feels both familiar yet otherworldly.

DAY 4 | RAB ISLAND - THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND
HEAVENLY RIDE ON “MAGIC” TRAILS
For decades, the island of Rab remained somewhat overlooked compared to its more popular neighbors. However, this island offers an exciting and exploratory riding experience, with trails connecting the most beautiful parts of its western coast. The route varies from sandy beach paths, fertile fields, and rocky trails to scenic coves and finally ends at the charming seaside town of Rab. A perfect day for cycling connoisseurs, Rab’s trails provide an engaging journey across the island’s diverse and picturesque landscapes.

Krka National Park is truly special. Its crystal-clear river flows into the sea at the bottom, framed by numerous waterfalls and serene lakes that highlight its pristine natural beauty. And what makes it especially enjoyable for us cyclists is the fact that, with a bit of creativity, determination, and persistence, we can ride through parts of the park. This unique tour offers scenic trails, gravel roads, and forested paths that make for a beautiful and memorable experience. It’s a cycling adventure that stands out and will linger in your memory long after it ends because it’s simply unlike any other.

This park offers a many walking trails and, for mountain bikers, fantastic biking trails that wind through pine forests and along scenic coastlines. Marjan is like a small, natural playground for riders, with trails that eventually lead back to the heart of the old city, where you can settle down for a meal, enjoy a coffee, and relax amidst the city’s charm. DAY 7 | BRAČ ISLAND - HOME OF 116 CHURCHES
VIA MAGIC PUSTINJA BLACA TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES
Today is dedicated to visiting one of the most beautiful islands of the Adriatic, Brač — one of the largest and highest islands in Croatia. This day feels like a true adventure. We’ll set out by ferry from Split to explore some of Brač’s most stunning landscapes. The island offers incredible riding paths and technical trails, making it ideal for exploring by bike.
This journey is all about discovery, with opportunities to reach remote parts of the island where you’ll encounter grazing sheep, quaint villages, and breathtaking views. With full-day bikepacking, Brač is the perfect setting for an unforgettable adventure in the Croatian countryside.

RIDING ON FINE TRAILS ABOVE CETINA RIVER
Omiš, this wonderful environment that just overwhelms a person. A kind of combination, the sea, urban by the sea, a beautiful old town with a fortress above the town, and steep and upright rocks all around. This place offers really great mountain biking on well-maintained trails above the city. If we were explorers on Brač, here we will enjoy organized cycling and enjoying endless views. Here it is simply good to cycle, enjoy down in the city, it is also good to throw yourself into the sea on the sandy city beach …

DAY 8 | DUBROVNIK - AN ARHITECTURAL MASTERPIECE
OLD TOWN WALKING TOUR
We finish the cycling tour this morning in Omiš. We are a bit tired, also due to the dinner from the previous day. But all this does not mean that a jump to Dubrovnik is not possible! An additional transfer will be organized for all cyclists who do not want to miss out on this famous city. The rest of us will be heading back towards Split and further around the world. It is, of course, possible to jump to any other destination in Croatia.

Around 2010, we began exploring Croatia’s mountain biking trails, captivated by the combination of secluded mountain bike routes with stunning landscapes alongside the sea and the countless islands of Croatia. This unique environment led us to explore Istria, ride across various Adriatic islands, mountain bike in spectacular spots, bond with locals, and enjoy many incredible moments. In time, we established a base/office in Split for Croatian biking tours and continued to ride actively. From this, the Trans MTB Croatia, Trans MTB Istria tour and several bikepacking - gravel adventures were born. Now, we’ve combined Croatia's top riding regions into one tour that unites natural beauty, the sea, islands, history, and fine cuisine.
